Lest there be any doubt which political party was behind this horribly racist poster, view this:

Democrats' Two Faces

There is a website dedicated to parodying Pansies For Plato, which recently ran this post, from which I have excised some, but not all, of the excess bloviation:

Imagine a Swastika Flying Over the Capitol of Bavaria and Look to South Carolina

In America we fought the Civil War, one of the bloodiest wars in history, with almost 700,00 soldiers dead. Anyone who thinks that the central motivation for the Civil War wasn’t the Southern Institution of slavery, is either a fool or deranged.[Excess bloviation omitted.]  Nevertheless, that war was about the oppression and exploitation of a group of people marked by their skin color and place of origin. Now World War II wasn’t fought over the extermination of the Jews, however, it was bigotry against Jews that contributed mightily to Hitler’s rise to power. [Excess bloviation omitted.] It is no coincidence then that the NAZI’s hatred of Jews aided them in coming to power in Germany.

After the South supposedly “lost” the Civil War, this country actually allowed them to re-institute slavery under a milder, yet no less disgusting form, known as  Jim Crow. [Excess bloviation omitted.]

So we see that the Confederate Flag flies high above South Carolina’s capitol as an expression of the institution of slavery and as a fond memory of the traitors who tried to keep it going. Modern Germany has States as well. One of the prominent ones is BavarianThe capitol of Bavaria is Munich and during Hitler’s rise to power Munich was his headquarters, where he had many supporters. [Excess bloviation omitted.]  Thankfully, in Munich the NAZI flag is banned, but think of the uproar if it was flown from their capitol building?

[Excess bloviation omitted.] This [Confederate] flag is not only a symbol of treason against this country, but it is also an emblem of the continuing struggle of some Americans to destroy, debase and degrade the people of color in this country. It seems in South Carolina their thinking is that “the South will rise again” and sadly many White Americans are too clueless in their “White Privilege” to understand that reality.

What the weak-kneed parodist Author forgot to ask was, “What if the Nazi Party was still organized in Bavaria, ran candidates for office, held nearly half the legislative seats, and the highest political position in Bavaria?” How do you think the Jews would feel about that? How would a Jew feel who went in to vote on a new Burgermeister, and there was Adolph Krupp from the Nazi Party? And Hans Goering from the Nazi Party?

Because that is the situation in America. The political party which rebelled against the Union, was the DEMOCRATS! The Confederate Flag was their flag! The Democrats are the party of Jim Crow, and segregation. It was George Wallace, a Democrat, who barred the doorway against black students. It was Bull Connor, a Democrat, who hit civils rights marchers with clubs, and dogs, and water hoses. I could go on for an entire book about the sins of the Democratic Party in regard to race.

Some people who seek to remove traces of white privilege from society are small thinkers. Why not do the job right? Because we will never have a better chance. If you doubt me, you can check this article out for an introduction to the Democrats and their long history of racism. Some older readers will not have to look it up, because this happened during their lifetime! But, if you doubt:

Let’s not just get rid rid of the Confederate Flag, let’s get rid of that flag’s political party. Let’s get rid of the name of the Democratic Party. The party of the South during the Civil War. The party of slavery. The party of Jim Crow. The party of the KKK. Let us face our past, own up to our own history of White Supremacy, and change our name to the Progressive Party. Or the Liberal Party. Anything but continue to insult and intimidate Black Americans. Let us lead the way on removing these vestiges of the past from the present!

I read NASCAR is “encouraging” fans to not display the Confederate flag @ races. They are afraid that the 4 black fans in the crowd of 88,000 might be offended.

    • Following up on another of your comments, I find it strange that the parody site is spending so much time on the Confederate Flag, when they cite statistics that 57% of the public do not view it as a racist symbol. It is almost as if they are trying to cause racial divisiveness.

TVLand just cancelled the Dukes of Hazzard because there was a Confederate flag on their car. Wow! Just fucking wow!

That 57% is somewhat deceiving. 75% of black people find it racist and only 33% of white people do. There is a big divide.

    • Nick,

I am glad you asked. It is Jean-Paul Belmondo. Who played Pierrot le Fou. From wiki:

Pierrot le Fou (pronounced: [pjɛʁo lə fu], French for “Pierrot the madman”) is a 1965 French film directed by Jean-Luc Godard, starring Anna Karina and Jean-Paul Belmondo. The film is based on the 1962 novel, Obsession, by Lionel White. It was Jean-Luc Godard’s tenth feature film, released between Alphaville and Masculin, féminin. The film was the 15th highest grossing film of the year with a total of 1,310,580 admissions in France.[2] The film was selected as the French entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 38th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.[3]

Ferdinand Griffon (Jean-Paul Belmondo) is unhappily married and has been recently fired from his job at a TV broadcasting company. After attending a mindless party full of shallow discussions in Paris, he feels a need to escape and decides to run away with his baby-sitter, an ex-girlfriend, Marianne Renoir (Anna Karina), leaving his wife and children and bourgeois lifestyle. Following Marianne into her apartment and finding a corpse, Ferdinand soon discovers that Marianne is being chased by OAS gangsters, two of whom they barely escape.

Marianne and “Pierrot” – the unwelcome nickname meaning “sad clown,” which Marianne gives to Ferdinand during their time together – go on a traveling crime spree from Paris to the Mediterranean Sea in the dead man’s car. They lead an unorthodox life, always on the run. [No Spoilers!]

Pierrot le fou is sometimes seen as an early and paradigmatic example of postmodernism in film.[5] The film’s postmodern elements include its parodic but affectionate attitude towards American pop culture, its deliberate mixing of high and low art, its frequent dissection of popular movie conventions, and its use of a decentered, collage-like (or paratactic) narrative structure. The central character of Ferdinand also embodies Jameson’s notion of the postmodern citizen as a victim of “compensatory decorative exhilaration” or a mass media-addled mindset in which individuals lose the ability to distinguish truth from fiction or important issues from trivial ones.

From the bolded part you can see why “Mssr. Lee Fou” fits in very well here. There is a lot more symbolism going on at Pansies than meets the eye. And can you believe some people think we are “middle-schooly”? Squeeky says I should foot note all this like she did at The Birther Think Tank, but I am a lazy blogger. And I have a full-time job, too.

Penelope, I can see how you and Squeek are friends. Watching football games w/ you would be a hoot! The fact that you women love football to Proust is what makes you so enjoyable. Two iconoclast, free thinking, women. I took French in high school and college, but can speak only bit. Where I grew up, there were a lotta French Canadian immigrants. Most spent a generation in Maine. The Catholic high school I went to had a feeder elementary school, St. Ann’s. That’s where the French Canucks went. The Italians went to St. Anthony’s, Irish to St. Joe’s, and Polish to St. Stanislaus. How fucking stereotypical is that? Anyway, my first French class virtually all the students spoke fluent French, speaking it in the home. It was overwhelming. Italian was spoken in my grandma’s home, but only French, Spanish and Latin were taught.

      Hi Nick!
Oh, I am ROTFLMAO! at the [Excess bloviation omitted.] stuff Penelope did to the idiot’s excerpt! But she better be careful, because doing that could leave his typical post consisting of only 20 or 30 words max. Heck, take out his “excess bloviation”, and he could just Tweet his stuff out!

Wouldn’t you just love to meet the shithead in a bar and verbally rip him a new asshole as he bloviated. I would pay good money to do that. Gene once said he would rip my arm off and beat me w/ it if I ever met him in a bar. They are unbelievable. Bob Stone is giving them some shit on the Confederate flag.
