Truth Has A Way Of Sneaking Up On You!

With all due respect to my fellow Author, Ellie Mangle-Lero, and her Negro-dialect poem, Ipse Dixie, here is a real poem by a real Black man. Sorry there ain’t no de’s and dat’s, but I’ze don’t talk dat way. 🙂

Truth Is Like A Painted Whore!
by R.O. Chester

You want the Truth to say sweet things
And whisper in your ear.
You want the Truth to tell you all
The things you want to hear.

But Truth is like a painted whore,
All jaded, rough, and mean.
And while a Fool deludes himself,
She picks his wallet clean.
