As a committed warrior for an environmentally safe Planet Earth, I already have my hands full with the Koch Brothers, and the Global Warming denialist nut cases. The last thing I need to deal with is people on my side, who agree with me, doing stupid stuff like flying gas guzzling jumbo jets to the grocery store for a bag of chips and a bottle of salsa.
So, imagine my chagrin when this story Hillary Clinton is plastered all over the Drudge Report:
EXCLUSIVE: Video shows Hillary Clinton boarding private jet just hours after launching global-warming push – and she’s using a FRENCH aircraft that burns 347 gallons of fuel every hour!
Just hours after Hillary Clinton unveiled her presidential campaign’s push to solve global warming through an aggressive carbon-cutting plan, she sauntered up the steps of a 19-seat private jet in Des Moines, Iowa.
The aircraft, a Dassault model Falcon 900B, burns 347 gallons of fuel per hour. And like all Dassault business jets, Hillary’s ride was made in France.
The Trump-esque transportation costs $5,850 per hour to rent, according to the website of Executive Fliteways, the company that owns it.
And she has used the same plane before, including on at least one trip for a speech that brought her $500,000 in fees.
There is a whole more at the link. Pictures, explanations, and cop outs. I mean, c’mon guys! We have Al Gore jetting all over the world like a potentate, Leo DeCaprio flying his plane back and forth between his houses all over the world, and now Hillary pulls this stunt right after announcing her energy saving plans.
It would not hurt her to fly commercial. She can afford first class tickets. All this kind of thing does is give ammunition to the right-wing nuts to call her a hypocrite, and along with her, portray the whole environmental movement as equally culpable participants in a scam.
So, Hillary! Straighten Up And Fly Right!

FootNote 1. The Image is Phyllis Coates, best known for playing Lois Lane on the 1950’s TV show, The Adventures of Superman! Wiki says this about her:
Coates’s Superman fame has obscured the fact that she was one of Hollywood’s most consistently employed actresses of the 1950s and ’60s. She freelanced steadily, appearing in numerous low-budget features, many of them Westerns, as well as serials and a steady stream of TV appearances, both as a regular in several series and as a guest cast member in others. All this was in addition to the “McDoakes” shorts, in which she continued to appear until Warner Brothers discontinued the series in 1956. Arguably, her best-remembered films of the 1950s — perhaps owing to their being those in which she has a substantial role, and being among the few that have been preserved so that they are available today on home video — are Blues Busters with The Bowery Boys (in which she has a musical number); Panther Girl of the Kongo, a jungle serial in which she starred; and I Was a Teenage Frankenstein.
